Bizzarro was in the house for the ABA’s biggest East Coast Tournament of the 2008 season. With 8 riders present we were a major factor in the Factory Team competition for the 3 day national event. When Walt Disney puts their name on something you know it’s got to be good, and the 2nd installment of the Disney Cup National was off the hook. Special thanks to our newest team sponsor Morphine Industries for the ground support for our team riders throughout the event.
Individually our riders represented our team sponsors to the fullest: Melissa Woodruff dominated her 20” and 24” classes with 6 wins over the long weekend. As the oldest women in her combined cruiser class, she still made it look easy.

Shawn DiPrete was his dominating self with 5 wins in the older 30 classes. Although the 6th main in question was a complete joke. When a foreign rider beside him left at “on the gate” in the cadence and hit his chain wheel on the top of the gate and then FELL in front of the riders still in the gate, the ABA still didn’t rerun the main, they just dq’d the gate jumper. DQ a guy that got last, that helps! It’s no excuse for us getting 4th that day, but it didn’t help matters any that’s for sure.

Austin Loebe and Erik Meyer each had wins, Loebe rebounded Sunday for a win in 15x after taking a cheap shot "T-Bone" Friday in turn one in the main. Meyer had all the big guns in the 9 yo group in the hous e and still pulled out a win and some other solid scores to help the team sheets.
Alex Frey (14x and cru) holeshot one main and looked strong in many others, but couldn’t put together a complete lap on the tight indoor track. Kayla Gaddis (Pro Women) not only ran the clip board all weekend long as acting TM, but she put in some hot laps in the pro girls class. Rob McAllister (41-45 cru) couldn’t get his grove on in FLA; the tight indoor course wasn’t what Rob needed to open up on. Still a couple 2nd’s ain’t too shabby! Courtney Applewhite (16 girls) has been injured pretty much non stop since the first moto of the NBL Grands back on Sept 1st. It showed in Disney, but with some time in the gym look for Courtney to be back in form soon.

Team wise we were in the mix all weekend long battling with the Formula factory team for third each day. But we didn’t have a good enough mix to run with OFR and IPOT. Two 3rd’s and a 4th out of 9 teams, and from what we hear a 3rd in the overall for the weekend, as the ABA scored TWO team sheets each day.
Next up for the Bizzarro team will be the ABA Grand Nationals. This will be a special event for us, as it marks both some firsts and lasts for us. This will be the first year we enter a team sheet at the grands, as this was the first year we completed the full 12 Factory Team score requirement. This will also be the last race we use the Bizzarro name for a team title. As many of you know already, we’ll role out the 2009 Rennen/Intense team at the NBL’s
Christmas classic in Lexington, VA.
Bizzarro is co-sponsored by: Cane Creek, Delta Cycles, Finish Line lubrication, < BR>FLY, Intense, Johnson plates, KMC, Morphine Industries, ODI, Powerbar, Twenty6 Products, Rennen Design Group, Sinz, T.H.E, and Thomson.
