DiPrete and Gaddis wreck shop in MoTown:

Bizzarro Racing NBL Thanksgiving National Team report.

Big Shawn DiPrete served notice to the 35 expert class in Morristown, Tennessee. Notice that much like last year, the class is his to lose and he wont make the same mistake twice. Working through semi's both days, Shawn saw his share of the dirt (no, not breathing it in all day like the rest of us) with crashes both Friday and Sunday. But his focus was clear come main event time.
Morristown was a good bench mark race for Shawn who is still recovering from a September surgery. But two wins is a positive step to start the 2007 with.
Quote of the weekend came from announcer Keith Miller: "You gotta love Shawn...he bought one house in California, then bought the one next door also. Then he goes out between them and bench presses them before he goes to work every morning."
Look for Shawn next with his Santa's hat on in Columbus, OH  for the NBL's Christmas Classic.

Shawn's 35 x teammate Chris Meaker fared well in MoTown also, with a 4th on day 1 and a 3rd on Day 2. Look for Chris to step it up in the coming races, as he is now working harder than ever with his NC riding crew.

Shawn races with the best: Fuled by PowerBar, Welham frame, Sinz cassette wheels, Fly Pants and bars, Cane Creek Headset and Brakes, Thomson Stem and Seatpost, Vigor helmet, ODI locking grips, KMC chain, Intense tires a THE seat and keeps his ride smooth and clean with Finish Line.

Kayla Gaddis came to Morristown looking for her second Elite Open win of the season. Focused on making rent money she dominated day 1's main event and took home over two hundred dollars.  Day two's main was shaping up well also, but a bobble in the last straight rollers kept her back in third place.
Back in May Bizzarro conducted a clinic in Peachtree City, GA. Teaching clinics gives a team the chance to scout for new riders. After the NBL added a class to the women's cruiser ranks, a rider we had met in Peachtree came to mind as an addition. Welcome Shayne Robinson to Bizzarro/Welham/JRA for 2007. Goes to show that there's more just a chance to learn when you go to clinic!
After a great performance in Louisville this year, Ace Savarese aged up from 12 to 13. MoTown saw a stacked 13 expert group, but Ace battled hard through semi's and landed a spot in day 2's main event.

Kayla races with the best, using: Fuled by PowerBar, Fly Pants, gloves and bars, Vigor helmet, Cane Creek Headset and Brakes, Thomson Stem and Seatpost, ODI locking grips, KMC chain, Intense tires, a THE seat and keeps her ride smooth and clean with Finish Line.

Team competition wise things went well considering two of our 7 team sheet riders had to leave after practice on Friday. One with an injury and one with an injured ride back to Florida.
Charging on with just enough riders to fill in the empty team sheet slots, Bizzarro/Welham/JRAcycles picked up a clean third on Day 1 out of six in the National Team Division. Day 2 was a battle of the bombs, as some crashes and mixed classes kept the score down from day 1, losing a tie breaker for second place against another bombed out National Teams sheet.

We had hoped to debut some new team colors in Columbus, but there is now a chance we may not be able to. That aside, check us out in Ohio pitted with Welham Bikes. Say hi and get some stickers!

L to R: Kayla Gaddis, Allen Currier, Chris Meaker, Shawn DiPrete, Shayne Robinson and Ace Savarese.
