Looking for more info on the "Uni Tomber" - email me.

Been a busy month for ME at least. April 1st the team was in Hampton Va for the opening round of the 2006 North East regional national series. We conducted an after race clinic (YET another BMX tradition Bizzarro coined!) that had approximately 20 attendees. Team wise we took second on Saturday, and did not enter a team sheet on Sunday. Like I said in the past, we're over the "Regional team title". I can buy a one month BMX Today add for a fraction of the price it costs us to win one via the team series. It's a major financial drainer for a team in regards to the payback system that is currently set up. Regionals we have clinics set up, we'll be there in full force again! :)

The following weekend I was in Florida..... Just not for the NBL nationals! Had the opportunity to work a trade show in Lakeland for the company I work for and it was a blast. Rode tracks three of my five nights down there and my company reimbursed for it all :). Thanks to MP3, the Tampa crew (Father Travis and Justin),  ABA Oldsmar and the Avon Park locals for a great week of "work". Gotta love Florida in April.

This weekend I attended a PowerBar gathering in Boston, they are in town for the Marathon and held a round table discussion over breakfast at the Prudential building. Topics I picked up new info on for this years clinic program were. "Short burst training", "Fighting Lactic Acid build up", "Use of Proteins" and more. Time well spent! Thank you PowerBar.

Egg Harbor is coming! Look for a LARGE picture report from that race in a few weeks.

3/5/2006

Early and unofficial reports in from Morristown have Bizzarro fishing up 4th out 8 teams both days. We'll just have to wait and see on the official results. Not to shabby considering all the powerhouse/merged teams were in attandance.

All the team riders present this weekend had at least one good day of finishes, or better. In the pro ranks Bizzarro's  John Crossen (Vet Pro) lined up for day 1's Elite Open main. The class had four racks and a real big payout. Elite women say Bizzarro's Kayla Gaddis pulled in a strong 2nd on day 1, while on day 2 she cased a jump or two and got caught up with all the fillers crashed and finished 7th.
Walter Dunn had a CAKE WALK in 22-29 cruiser, winning both days (after some heavy training in Mexico last week ~roll~). Chris Meaker reeled in a 2nd in 35 & Over X on day 1 to help the team sheet to a 82 point score. Nick Chapman had a strong weekend in 15 x just before he celebrates his 16th birthday. 4th on day 1 from an outside gate, and a 2nd on day 2. Allen Currier had a rough go of it in 16 x, only qualifying for day 1's main event. Courtney Applewhite scored a consistent pair of deuces in 14 girls (must have been the helmet). Menardo Simon made the jump to a Brew 20 inch AND up to the 13 year old expert and cruiser classes this weekend, while Brendan Looby missed yet another race he was pre signed for :) !
Rick Marceau
and Walter coordinated the team effort for this go around. Congrats, and good job to all of you. (Yes I know it's MY fault that there were no PowerBars this weekend)

Next up for the crew: Hampton Virginia for the Northeast Regional National, where the full Bizzarro "dog and pony show" will be present to promote PowerBar and conduct an after racing clinic on Saturday.

Well, it took what lasted like forever but PowerBar has signed on this week as a team sponsor for 2006 & 2007. So now our new jersey's can FINALLY go to print. We had to add the word "Factory" to them this year to comply with ABA rules, as cheesy as it looks :(

You can't get a pair of 180 Saint cranks to save your life these days, I had the "last pair" Shimano had from the January boat ordered two weeks ago only to find out they were sent to someone more important and mine are now back ordered 90 days.... This could finally be the demise of Profile, god knows their customer service sucks!

Looby's custom 21.5 Brew frame is STILL not ready (4 months and counting!) and Tom's "Gold Member" 20.5 Brew may be for sale.

Our Southern tour is coming together, I'm staying the week between ABA Dixieland and NBL Tanglewood to do clinics in the region. See the clinic schedule for more info. So far Welham's Nick St. Lawrence will be on the tour with me and Shawn DiPrete is flying in sometime mid week for a clinic or two and the Tarheel national.

Our model picture was removed for one reason and one reason only. We are currently filing for Incorporation and 501 (3) (c) non profit status. So Government types may be checking into the site and I'd like to keep it to strictly racing content till the approval is in.

Morristown will be in full effect for the team, just not ME! :) Look for Looby, Dunn, Gaddis, Meaker, Chapman, Currier & Applewhite under the leadership of Marceau on the weekend of March 3rd. Decouto and I will head down to Egg the following weekend to check in on Lester......

Puerto Rico was a great trip, just the kind of vacation we used to have out West a few years back. I love how some teams spent thousands to send riders to this race then were shocked when the team points they got weren't "keepers". Reassures me that some people just aren't in this sport for the same reasons we are.....
There may be an article up about the trip sometime, but don't hold your breath.  :)

I have a feeling that our front page picture will cause all sorts of controversy but at this point I'm tired of being overly scrutinized with every move I make in regards to running this team. It's just a FUN picture...something Jenny took upon herself to surprise us with...and is not intended to insult or offend anyone. Quite frankly I wish more people shared her enthusiasm for Bizzarro Racing. Jenny is a professional model (and a former Patriots cheerleader) and this is a professional photo shoot for product advertisement. And in case anyone is wondering how Jenny wound up in a Bizzarro jersey to begin with, she is 'Bizzarro's Own' Shawn DiPrete's girlfriend. Shawn & Jenny are currently living in LA.

Seeing as I'll be in Puerto Rico for a week of BMXing & vacationing starting Tuesday, now is as good of time as any to post your comments cause I won't have to hear it for a week! :)

Hope to see you in Puerto Rico for the best national of the year!

Yes, I KNOW the web site hadn't been updated in some time. But hey, when you can get a PC reformatted for free you don't rush the artist doing the job!

Obviously we are back up and running and some new pictures and content have been added.

While the site was down the team was out in Columbus OH for the return of the NBL Christmas Classic. I know the drive was long, and not many went, but I sure did like the Classic being in FLA the last two years seeing as how I have to take a mandatory vacation from my job then anyways....  Marathon was a great place to relax after the race.
Also, team rider John Crossen went out to Reno, NV for the 2006 ABA season opener. John won 4 out of 6 moto's in the super tuff Vet Pro class and turned a LOT of peoples heads in the process. Good Job John!

7 members of the team were down in Lexington, VA this weekend for the Blue Ridge Mountain Nationals. Seems like the star of the team this weekend was Courtney Applewhite, who won 14 girls both days. Kayla Gaddis picked up the 1st place pay envelope in Elite Women's racing on day 2, and Chris Meaker scored himself from what I understand his first perfect of the 06 season in the 35 X class on day 2. Three win's on the team sheet still wasn't good enough to "place" in the national team racing category, thus my sarcastic remark on the front page of the web site right now. In reality it was more of my own fault for not being in contact with one of our teams riders on hand this weekend whom could have helped the score tremendously. He's featured in the following photo.

Frano is Bustin, while Looby is Lustin at the 2005 ABA York, PA National...

Speaking of Kyle Frano, he's off to the Police Academcy this spring and summer. Life is never all about BMX, so we are happy for Kyle as he takes on this new challenge. Look for him back on the National scene in the fall of 2006.

Regional team rider Seth Nelson has left the team on good terms to pursue a ride with the newly formed JRA Cycles national team. We wish Seth the best of luck with his new ride.

Less then two weeks now till the RM59 Tropical challenge national. Gaddis, Applewhite, Dunn, Lopes and Myself hope to get off the beach long enough to see the track.

12/2/2005

Bizzarro has scheduled our FIRST clinic of the 2006 season. Saturday April 1st at Hampton Supertrack in Hampton, VA Bizzarro will conduct a 2 hour post Regional National race seminar for all ages and proficiencies. Cost will be $25 a rider and will include a sticker pack and a t-shirt.

In other news Bizzarro has added some fresh faces to the crew after an off season of high turnover. Please welcome 12X & cru rider Menardo Simon, and 15X Nick Chapman to the National Team. Both Nick and Menardo were eager to become members of the Bizzarro family, and that is one of the biggest traits we'll be looking for in working with new riders in the future. Once again, welcome aboard guys!

In a previous press release we've mentioned the face lift the team trailer was getting, that vinyl work is now complete as pictured previously ( Trailer rehab Project ) and all the black trim has been prepped and repainted. But what you didn't know is we've also had some new banner work done also, the vinyl is complete and now the final stages of Portuguese engineering is being completed on the permanent stands they will rest in. (Decoutowitz is in charge of this project, so please see him with any negative feedback once you see them) All this just in time for the biggest showcase race of the year (well NBL wise), the Christmas classic in Columbus, OH.

Also as you can see by the front page of the website, the 2006 Magazine Ad has been started. We still have some time to tweak it, so if there's anything you don't like shoot us an email and we'll consider your artistic ideas.

Lastly, it now looks like the "Southern tour", a one week clinic and race extravaganza will happen this May. A few clinic dates are in the works now in the Carolina region between the ABA Dixieland Nats and the NBL Tanglewood National. Check back for more info in future posts.

Hope to see you all in Ohio in a few weeks!

P.S. Check out Kyle Frano's page, there's been a picture update "myspace" style!

Seems that EVERY year I can make the same statement that I've posted in the past . "We've seen numerous good teams form and disband in the region over our long tenure".
I can make that statement knowing Bizzarro went through those types of growing pains in 1996 and we learned from our mistakes, right Justin. "One year wonder" teams never cease to amaze me. Never believe the hype, cause if the offer seems to good to be true, it usually IS.

Bizzarro Racing, proud to provide a stable team platform to numerous co-sponsors and riders..... We'll never B#!!sh!t any riders or their parents.

6/22/05

With Walter Dunn out another 6 to 8 weeks with his broken shoulder, Bizzarro would like to welcome aboard 22X Kyle Frano (NY), who we hope will not just be a part time replacement but become a full time member of our extended family. Although Kyle will only be a rostered member of our ABA factory team, look for him to make his Bizzarro debut next weekend in South Park, PA at the NBL Stars and Stripes National.

Rogers returning!

Bizzarro's 2004 12X National Champion Mike Rogers will return to BMX racing during the month of May 2005 aboard a new Brew pro frame. Look for him at the NBL's Long Island National, this should be his first race since the Grands.

Also in the news: After making a quick recovery from a spinal injury scare in a January BMX crash, Nick St. Lawrence has now taken up dirt bike riding on a 125............. Yeah that makes sense, crashing on a MX will be way better on his neck then crashing in a pro moto....

John and Tracey Crossen are relocating to North Carolina next month. They close on a new home around the 14th.

Big Shawn DiPrete, who moved to Cali after the Grands, has started riding again. He'll be at the NBL Vegas National this weekend, but is gearing up for the NBL South Park National in July. You don't have to look for him, you'll "see him" anyways.....

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of one Justin Loffredo, please contact us with your report.... He's MIA!

St. Lawrence to miss the 2005 racing season:

Due to a spinal injury suffered at the 2005 ABA East Coast Nationals, Nick St. Lawrence will likely miss the remainder of the 2005 racing season. Doctors will reevaluate the injury in 6 months an then make a decision on his future. During this rehab period Nick will reclassify back to amateur status in hopes that a short trial period will be all he needs to get back into form once he has a doctors clearance.

Sonic making "custom" plates: Darryl Crews over at Sonic Speedwerx has announced the launch of a new custom plate series soon to be available to the entire BMX public. Now you can get all your sponsors printed right on your Sonic number plate face. Various colors and styles will be available soon. Log onto www.sonicspeedwerx.com for more info.

Here's a MUST read for all of you who THINK you know about team racing. http://www.bmxmania.com/redman.htm

Seems as though "One" Bicycles has already suspended it's funding to it's NBL National team. Leaving all the guys who switched over from Hyper out in the cold....

Clarification: Ryan "Z Man" Zelinski will NOT be a instructor at this summer's Bizzarro camp in Bethel...  Something about a "promise ring" ????

Val Racine hangs up his chest protector.............  sorry to say, but it's true.

12/21/2004

Bizzarro Racing has found a home mortgage company to step up to the plate and sponsor a big time established team.... Affordable Funding Mortgage Corp, of East Greenwich, RI....... Check out their link in the co-sponsor area for contact info. Rates are REAL low right now.

Also, Female pro Kayla Gaddis has been added to this summer's Bizzarro day camp at Bethel Supercross. Northeast female riders will have to think twice about not attending this camp now........
